Resolution to Study Rare Diseases Adopted by House

Rep. Cooper’s resolution calling for a study of two rare disorders, Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS) and Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS), has passed the House. The resolution directs the bipartisan, bicameral Joint State Government Commission to conduct a comprehensive study of insurance practices, state resources, provider capacity, misdiagnosis impacts, and other states’ policies, and make recommendations to improve access, education and support.
